As Co-Executive Director of the Foundation of Administrative Justice, Karen plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the Foundation’s corporate affairs while supporting its leadership. She leads key initiatives such as the Annual General Meetings, committee and board meetings, grant research, and applications. Karen is also responsible for overseeing the development and review of the annual budget, the Foundation financials, risk management, succession planning, and the completion of annual returns and bylaws. Additionally, she manages the office staff and contractors, working closely with external affiliate bodies and partnerships.
Karen holds the Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice™ and recently graduated from the University of Alberta’s Certified in Management program (CIM). She is currently enrolled in the Digital Bold Leadership Program with Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE).
Outside of her professional endeavors, Karen resides in Sherwood Park with her three teenagers. In her free time, she enjoys cooking up a delicious BBQ or gathering friends and family around a campfire. A passionate supporter of local charities, Karen is actively involved with the Strathcona County Kiwanis Club.
Karen’s philosophy is simple: “I have been fortunate to lean on friends and family along the way. I help others whenever I can.”

There is always room for one more at the table. I grew up on the farm and if I knew of a person that didn’t have a place to have a meal, I invited them to eat with us.
Favorite music genre?
I listen to all kinds of music. Depends on my mood.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
I don’t get to travel much; however, I love to do road trips. Enjoy the scenery and explore the hidden gems along the way.
Hobbies?
My latest is gardening. I will enjoy the fresh vegetables and fruit! Going to the gym. Love hiking and going to the mountains.
