Advanced Decision-Writing

This advanced workshop builds on foundational skills, helping you tackle complex decision-writing challenges. You will practice writing about interpretive issues and applying them to the facts, strengthening your ability to create well-reasoned, reader-friendly decisions. Through targeted exercises and peer review, you will refine your writing for clarity, coherence, and logical flow.

Format: Multi-week blended learning. A mix of livestream facilitation, hands-on exercises, microlearning, and independent writing. You will draft, review, and refine a full decision with facilitator and peer feedback. This rigorous, practice-driven approach will help you master advanced decision-writing techniques.

  • Mandatory pre-workshop work
  • 10.5 hours of livestream sessions led by experienced decision-writers with real-world expertise
  • Independent writing to be completed between live sessions
  • Final homework assignment to be submitted after the live sessions

Recommended for: Experienced administrative decision-makers, tribunal members, and legal professionals who want to refine their decision-writing skills.

Prerequisite:  Completion of the Decision-Writing Course and the Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice™

Credits:  14 credits toward the Advanced Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice™
