Working Towards Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Our Tribunals

Diversity in our organizations today is a fact. Creating inclusion, equity, and belonging takes effort. Individual awareness is not enough—we need to address the systems and processes with built-in but unintended barriers. In this course, learners will leverage their learnings about equity and inclusion and begin to think about systemic discrimination. They will consider the work needed by tribunals that wish to move towards equity.

We will explore the organizational benefits of equitable and inclusive organizations and how addressing systemic barriers built into systems, practices, and policies need to be adapted for the current Canadian context. We will work with a model to support learners to develop an action plan for their tribunal no matter how big it is.

This action plan will include several aspects, including decision-maker engagement, hiring practices, professional development, leadership, and client experience.
